Jolie Lin is vice president and deputy general counsel Technology &Operations, and chief knowledge officer, at the Bank of Montreal. Jolie is accountable for managing legal and regulatory risk for BMOs T&O functions, focused on technology, procurement, outsourcing and strategic partnerships. She is also responsible for leading the development and implementation of global knowledge management initiatives within the legal, corporate and compliance group. She acts as chief technology strategist and plays a leadership role in promoting and guiding the use of technology within LCCG. Jolie is also responsible for leading innovative projects, to optimize resources and bring greater efficiencies in the LCCG function. She leads a team of lawyers as well as professionals responsible for project management, records and information management, centralized litigation support (e-discovery and legal holds), internal knowledge-sharing systems, and internal professional development programs.
Prior to joining BMO, Jolie was a partner at Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt LLP in the firm’s Financial Services Group, and immediately prior to joining BMO, was Associate General Counsel at Vale Inco Limited, responsible for Knowledge Management.
Jolie received her Bachelor of Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Canada. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1988.
